Water flooding is always a threat; floods know no specific
season or time, and they can occur at any time, anywhere. Prolonged heavy rainfall over a given area,
the breaking of a dam or levee, or even a backed up sewage system can result in
flood waters that can cause hundreds of millions of dollars in damage to the
communities they strike.

People die from flood water conditions for a variety of
reasons, usually because they underestimate the power of the flood waters. Six inches of flowing water is enough to
knock a grown man off his feet, and two feet of water is enough to float a
car. In addition, depths can be
deceptive, and what may look like an innocuous stream crossing a roadway can be
enough to sweep a car and its driver away.
The damage inflicted by flood waters must be seen to be
believed. Easily the most destructive of
all natural disasters, floods can sweep away entire properties, leaving nothing
behind, and in the best case, they cause incredible damage that can take weeks
or months to fully repair.
If you are the victim of a flood event, get out of the storm
path as quickly as possible. Trying to
ride it out is risking your life.
Once the waters have receded, return to your home, shut off
all utilities and verify structural integrity before entering.
Take inventory of the damage, along with plenty of photos
and video for insurance purposes. Remove
damaged furniture and other loose items from the home. These can be repaired and restored elsewhere,
and not serve as an impediment to subsequent repair efforts.
Lastly, contact your local water flooding repair
company. They are available 24/7 to
serve all of your water damage restoration needs.
